Sherlock Holmes And The Direction of Time
Mar 20, 2021
Imagine these two consequent scenes, that toke place long before Covid:
Scene One: On The Evening Before The Murder A man receives a visitor in his home. He askes the newcomer where he would like to be seated. The other man hesitates, but he finds a confortable chair directly opposing. When the host has filled the wine glasses, he hands one of them to his friend. After a while they place their half empty glasses randomly on the table.

Am I the only one to find this very confusing??
The Body And The Wordless Mind
Mar 06, 2021
As a buddhist practitioner, I have more than 18 years experience in Zen meditation, almost on a daily basis. When I prepare to meditate at home, I pour in a glass of cold water, place one of the dining table chairs next to the glass, with the table to the right of me and facing one of the book cabinets. I put my phone next to me with Insight Timer started up.
Make It So :-)

I am an iPhone user, but I am sure this functionality is also available for Android:
The phone can give an alarm when I reach a location, for instance the city of Amersfoort. I can also set the distance, after which the alarm is triggered, e.g, 6 km around Amersfoort, or 20 km.
What would be nice is, that this feature works more generalized. Suppose, I am visiting another city and I need to buy something in a drug store, but I do not want to change my schedule for that.
Video Note Atemporality
Dec 12, 2020
This I think is an interesting concept. This video is a summary of the book: Sterling, Bruce. “Atemporality for the creative artist.” Beyond the Beyond (2010).
In the past, the flow of history was based in books and events that followed each other in the natural time, so chronologically.
Present authors like Ryan Holiday and Maria Popova, also the Dutch intellectual Rob Riemen all go back to the literary timescale.

Anki Memorization With Audio
Sep 12, 2020
I use Anki, after been inspired by the excellent testimonial of Michael Nielsen of Y Combinator research. I use also one Anki deck.
I have an idea for a new app: Anki with audio. Suppose, you are driving in your car and start the Anki-audio app (this has not been developped yet). Anki-audio playes the first question over the car audio speakers and pauses. You give the answer out loud. Anki-audio, noticing that you have said something, playes the right answer.

This famous poem I would like to offer to you, my sons. Yes, both of you!
“Perception Is Real And The Truth Is Not”

Enlightened Or Without Conscience? My Buddhist teachers, that I love and acknowledge deeply, have taught me that one characteristic of the enlightened state, is that you are free of worry, or free of negative thoughts. They say that this is not the same as naivety, but you fully enjoy life, and at the same time, are aware of the suffering.
But the prince, from the Florentine writer Machiavelli, who ideally is scrupulous, is also enjoying life and free of worry!
